Feeling anxious, stretched thin, or unable to switch off? Personalised, one-on-one yoga therapy in Darch helps calm your nervous system and bring you back to steady ground — gently, and at your pace.
Yoga therapy works directly with the nervous system. Research summarised by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) suggests that practices such as slow breathing, gentle movement, and guided relaxation may help shift the body out of the “fight-or-flight” stress response and into the “rest-and-digest” state where recovery happens.
In practical terms, a tailored yoga therapy programme may help you:
• Calm a racing mind and reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety
• Breathe more slowly and fully, which directly signals safety to the nervous system
• Sleep more easily and wake feeling more rested
• Release the muscular tension that stress stores in the body
• Build simple, portable tools you can use anywhere when stress rises
Yoga therapy complements, and does not replace, care from your GP or mental health professional. We are glad to work alongside your existing health team.
Your first session begins with an unhurried conversation about your health, history, and goals. From there we design a practice that fits your body, your fitness level, and your daily life — no prior yoga experience is needed, and no pose is compulsory.
Sessions typically blend gentle movement, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation or meditation. You will leave with a short, simple home practice so the benefits continue between sessions. Over time, we adjust your programme as you progress.
This is for adults in Perth who are living with everyday stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or burnout — whether you are a busy professional, a parent, a student, or in retirement. It is especially suited to people who want a calm, one-on-one setting rather than a busy group class.
We are a husband-and-wife practice, both Registered Yoga Teachers and Yoga Therapists with Yoga Australia (Level 2), and recognised under Yoga Australia's Private Health programme. We hold ourselves to professional, evidence-informed standards — Sunil also serves on the IAYT Accreditation Program Review Committee internationally.
Just as importantly, we are authentic, long-term practitioners. We hold the integrity of the yoga tradition at the heart of everything we do, while grounding our therapy work in current evidence.
Depending on your level of cover, you may be able to claim a rebate through your private health fund — please check your individual policy.
